We are heading to Orange beach Wednesday through sunday, does a system like this have any carryover affect on the area once passed through? I’m sure the water will be murky right?

Local OBAL resident since 01, what I'VE typically observed after tropical storms or hurricanes is the weather is usually very nice afterwards. I remember after Ivan it was absilutel beautiful with clear skies for at least a week. That was a a blessing for clean up efforts.

Most of this is captain obvious type stuff:

The surf and rip currents will be worse than normal. Heed the red flag warnings.

The water clarity will be murkey and it will be for a week or so; at least until the muddy fresh water runoff from the bays has had a chance dissipate.

Be careful when walking on beach as there can be a washed up debris hidden under the sand and a sliced foot is no fun.

Common sense stuff.

Will this thing actually be a true tropical system by landfall?

Looking at Levi's video yesterday concerning the humidity vs dry air in Alberto on the GFS, it looks like he gets a window to go full tropical cutting off the dry air that gets into the east side of the center and gets some warmer water right by the coast that could make the transition right at landfall.

That being said, close to the penensula of Florida the water is pretty chilly relative to the rest of the gulf and it was suppose to be a bit farther west. So that could prevent it from being able to go full tropical at landfall.

Finally, the UKMet stuck to it's guns on an east solution all week. Did well last year too.

The weather channel is so lame when these weak arse tropical storms are rolling in and they get all hyped up trying to make people think you’re about to die.

Sun is making an appearance here in Madeira Beach. Skies definitely look to be clearing off to the south and west.

A few years ago there was a video of some stupid news chick playing up how dangerous the storm was. Two guys stroll behind her in the surf doing the Gangnam Style horse riding.

Wind kicking In Destin -- wish I could estimate. Double red flags still out. No rain other than a few drops today.

Convection is slowly rotating around, outflow is improving and shear is decreasing. Luckily, still plenty of dry air in the system.
