Well my thought process was seeing some case that is 30 to 20 years old and then seeing how the cops completely bungled it all this time later.

So in 20 years maybe we find out they had a lead and never acted on it.

shite didnt they have Derek Todd Lee arrested? The brpd had the serial killer in their grasp but didnt know it was him.

Only realistic hope is a ballistics or possibly DNA on the shell casings ( unlikely) match.

A lot of those cases are solved due to an advance in DNA technology so yes they are solved using the abundance of evidence that they already had.

DNA tech is so good that they can now lift DNA just from something you touch. Saw a Dateline the other day where they were able to lift touch DNA off of a victim's clothes.

Exactly. This is a long game scenario.

If the gun was dumped, then it's holding out hope for finger prints or DNA that hits one day...if ever.

Going to random criminal leaders and offering them illegal protection, until you find the one who knows a perp, in exchange for giving up that perp, does not happen ALL the time, bro.

That criminal leader would ultimately be subpoenaed to testify as to this highly improper (and likely illegal) agreement. Then it would raise all sorts of issues related to his credibility, b/c this identification would be the key piece of evidence used. If this agreement was declared illegal, then LEO couldn't use any of the evidence gathered after the fact, either.

Old days the police would put pressure in the area shutting down drug houses and the thugs money.

Eventually, the higher level thugs gave up the lower level thug to get the pressure off their area.

It comes down to money.
Stop the illegal money and the thugs will give up the murder pretty quick.

The incident happened when nobody was around and no cameras caught anything. How the hell do you think the police can solve this?

Police have been solving crimes well before the invention of cameras on exterior buildings.

Zero chance of the perp(s) keeping quiet about this one. It's a badge of honor. People 100% know who did it.

Police awful adamant about it not being part of a gang initiation. It fits the profile to me...of course it may not be.

"Gang initiation" is just a scared white person myth to explain random acts of violence. I'm sure somewhere deep inside of the mythology there is a kernal of truth based on events in the 70s or 80s, but it's not the reason 99.999999% of the time someone claims it is.

Unfortunately these animals don't need a reason to take a human life.

Bingo. Someone who knows what happened needs to get arrested for something else and make a deal.

frick LSU administration.

Sad, but so many colleges and universities either did or would do the same.
Conservatives that care about this country need to weed out the liberal mindset and liberal groomers out of the schools

It was dark, at night, and I doubt they have any way to identify anyone on any cameras (and I imagine the number is low). This area is pretty desolate, IIRC.

I would bet dollars to donuts that if someone had done nothing more than tie a noose to one of the arms at that railroad track, we would have known within a day or two how it got there and who did it.

I think so. My original intent was to bump it with the days past like I’ve regularly done but I couldn't find it.

Wonder what happened to it. Somebody getting a little too close to some answers?

This is one of many reasons to do away with BRPD.
All BRPD does is provide cover ups and security for the mayor.

The metro council always says well we have to think of BR first.
Don’t you have a sworn obligation to manage the parish and not just BR first.

We need to go to 1 dept which is the sheriff’s office. Cut cost and reduce administrative staff while putting more officers on the streets.
