Her momma would bring her to perform at various Chamber of Commerce-ish events (like luncheons) around the NOLA metro area when Amanda was 12-14 years-old. (Pre-K) She was cute, talented and had a good presence.
Saw her 3 or 4 times in that time frame.
Amanda looks now a lot like her momma did back then. (Unsurprisingly)

According to the internet, she was born in Boston, but grew up in Mandeville.

My stepdaughter went there the same time Amanda Shaw was attending and I'd pick her up after school and park across the street from the school until school let out.
I can't tell you the amount of times I'd be sitting there in my truck waiting for her to come out and I'd see those teenage gals with their heads buried in their cellphones walking across R. E. Lee without even looking up to check traffic.
I don't know how some of those girls survived "Street Crossing 101".
Oh, and as far as Shaw, she stopped going to Mt. Carmel in 08 to pursue her music career and eventually got her GED. As far as I know, she's not attended any university.
