My uncle (catholic) married an evil bitch (Baptist). They NEVER agreed on religion. Just that my uncle should work himself to death to provide for her. Which he did.
He died confused and in pain. With a woman who couldn’t give 2 shits about him but would not divorce him due to appearances and the fact that she was a miserable twat who would have a hard time finding a second.
Point is if it’s a problem at the fiancé stage, it may be a big problem in 20 years plus kids. Being a miserable gash of a woman is a separate issue the OP may not be dealing with.

Am I correct that this primarily consists of...
1) band playing modern Christian music
2) preacher sermon to make you feel good
3) pitch (or multiple pitches) for money
Also curious if you're counseled privately about the difference in donating 10% of gross vs. net. And have you ever been asked to provide proof of income?
I ask because someone told me all of the above happened where he tried to go.

The problem is she doesn't respect you. The strap will fix that problem.

I won't let my kids get influenced by that Catholic nonsense by going to their private schools. That stuff is a cancer and religious rot that messes people up for decades.
You don't need confession.
You don't need the sacraments.
You don't need to progressive salvation.
You only need 1 advocate and that's Jesus Christ via his blood on the cross.
You don't need Mary. She was not sinless. She was just a vessel.

Not here to argue about it either. Just the facts.
I have a stepson who was raised Pentecostal Holiness. He was even "ordained" by his grandfather who is the "bishop" of a Pentecostal Holiness denomination that he founded.
My stepson now lives in rural Kansas and has 5 kids. They didn't like the public schools around there, so they converted to Catholicism and their kids attend Catholic school.
Caused a heck of a rift with the grandfather.

Neither one of you seem willing to have a difficult conversation about worship.
I know that I am certainly not the person I was when I started posting about religion here in 2007. Farrr from it.
Even if they don't get married, Southernhog could end up non denominational or atheist, and his fiancee could fall in love with the Catholic church in 15 years. That's just the way faith goes sometimes.

I did mostly because they had a really good football team and to keep him around people that look like us.
He didn't go through with the confirmation or anything because it was in the middle of deer season.

Preach! :pun intended:
Just take a dive into any one of the political issues of the day. If you voted for ____, then you are a Nazi/murderer/whatever.
Life is complex. I realize that more every day. Free thinkers are rare nowadays. The younger generations rely on social media to tell them how to feel, and religion is no different. Since I’ve gone through divorce, I’ve explored a few churches. I’ve received good messages from non-denominational churches and Baptist churches alike. Church leaders can be great or terrible regardless of affiliation or the building they occupy.

We go to Mass at 10 and non denomination at 11.
How are you instilling the importance and sanctity of the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ being lifted above the alter if you're immediately turning around and going to religious cirque du soleil, which you admit you go to because you enjoy the entertainment value?

Catholicism and Protestantism are both right? You are being pulled away from the truth.

Ideally, you would go to Catholic Mass every Sunday, but in this situation I'm proposing a compromise for he and his fiance.
That's how obligations work.
