On those makes I can promise you that at 200,000 or 300,000 miles you're going to have a bunch of broken switches, cracked dashboards and other plastic bits, broken window regulators, have replaced a bunch of sensors, air condition flapper doors and vents broken, etc

It would take me 30-35 years to drive 300k. There would be a lot more shite broken than that on any make

The Tundra definitely rides like a truck, which I like. It’s not car like.

Chevy pissed me off by not offering the 6.2L in lower trims. That alone turned me off from Chevy.

toyota without a doubt.
ONE DAY, youre going to sell it and it has the absolute highest resale of any vehicle. When that day comes, the value will shock you...my last 3-4 vehicles were Toyota Tacomas and everytime i pull Kelly Blue Book and go, DAMN!

Good price. That's their version of Denali.

All I can say, A buddy of mine has a '14 Tundra and I have a '15 Silverado..

Every time he rides in my truck, he tells me how more of a smoother ride my truck has...

My personal truck is a '16 Tundra 4X4 and my work truck is a brand new Ford F150 4X4. Damn that Ford runs circles around the Tundra in ride quality and interior comforts. I am about as pro-Toyota as you can get, since I also own a Landcruiser and a Taco, but the Ford is nice. Like super nice. I guess the first time I am stranded in the Ford, I will start complaining.

But you are paying more upfront.

Probably so but one has to decide "if I'm going to keep this truck for 2-3 years or am I going to keep it 8-10 years"?

If you are the former, go with the cheaper truck. If you prefer the latter option I'd go with the Tundra. No doubt repairs will be needed during those 8-10 years.

Those repairs will be less costly with the Tundra over the long run.

35k is WAY too high on that Tundra. I bought one last summer for 42k out the door. '17 SR5 crewmax 4x4 with the TSS black package.

You aren't shopping hard enough if you are settling for a 3 year old truck with 38k miles on it for $7k off new.

I have owned Fords Chevys and Tundras.

Tundras are the best.

My last one I put over 250,000 miles on it and the only time wrenches were put on it were to change the oil and to change the brake pads. The friggin Panasonic battery lasted over 7 years.

Never had to have it aligned. Never had to change and alternator or the shocks or the anything.

Bought a 2017 last year. Has the same 5.7 liter engine as the 07 I had. They are reliable and repair free because Toyota is not changing mechanical parts like engines every two or three years.

They have a lot of towing capacity standard.

They are absolutely more reliable.

We own two fords in our company too and neither of them can make it through the year without some repair or another. Electronics, noisy dash, alternator something.

That's cool. My ford does have some work done on it from time to time but my last F150 had about 75k on it while pulling between 11 and 13k pounds (mini excavator and a skid steer).

In the half ton pickups, no one touches Ford for towing capacity and it does meet those. 3/4 ton I would go with a Chevy.

I didn't say they weren't good trucks, i just said that they are very expensive to fix when you have to do work on them. As for changing motors, Chevy had the tune down motor that went to 4 cylinders or 3 cylinders when it was cruising to save on gas milage but I think they did away with it. I think they have kept the 5.3 for close to 20 years and the LS series of motors closer to 25 years. They are widely known as the most user friendly motors out there, that is why they are common swaps for literally every off road vehicle and parts are readily available and cheap.

You have your opinion. It is not gospel.

I never stated my opinion as gospel dumb frick. You are taking it that way because your daddy told you fords are better.

The guy asked for peoples OPINIONS!!
its a message board and i gave one.

If you dont agree then state that.

You are really insecure it seems. You stalk multiple guys on here and act like the end all of knowledge.

Its a truck question. Of course people will disagree.

How about backing up your opinion with something other than stupidity

One more small thing, my link i provided is not an opinion but is a fact. The resell is higher on the toyota and its not a question.
