I wasn't laughing at the content of the comment but laughing at the ridiculousness and absurdity of the comment itself. How someone could go into a thread about a guy dying and make a comment about wishing someone else would experience the same fate is completely bewildering to me.

Whoa wtf. He had a really troubled past but he acted like he made it past that. Parts Unknown is a great show.

I wasn't a fanboy of him like some on here obviously are, but that is what I found attractive (for lack of a better word) about his show. As much of a charming, arrogant a-hole as he could be, he would treat some Third World chef or backwoods cook with respect and seem to take a genuine interest in them.

I wasn't a fan either. Watched some of his earlier stuff. I always felt he had a personality that wasn't conducive to his own well being, mainly compulsive or addictive behavior.

Never know what goes on with a person behind the camera. I've heard conflicting stories on the guy, he could be either evil or a saint, depending on who you ask.

This dude literally lived my dream life...when people asked for my dream job I would always say, "give me Bourdain's gig". I envied a life of traveling, meeting new people and telling amazing stories...goes to show you never really know.

I really liked and enjoyed the edited version of Anthony Bourdain. And then I read his Les Halles cookbook and my fandom wasn't the same. I'm not sure what he wrote, but I got a feeling that the writing was who he was and the TV was severely edited.

When I see Jacques Pepin still cooking and still making great TV, I feel sad for what Bourdain might have been.

The poliboard thread apparently got so disgusting they deleted it.

EDIT: they apparently moved that cesspool thread to the MTV Board.

Bourdain used to be my favorite. But you could see his misery leaking into his work after a while. Honestly, behind Giada's titties Guy Fieri is my favorite TV personality in this genre. The dude is like legit a cool, happy dude and can cook his arse off while hosting some fun/interesting shows.

I'll vote for Stephen Steven Rinella. He's the less glamorous, more authentic Bourdain.
