though the rain water pumped to the lake? Why would construction in the quarter cause an issue in mid city?
Trying to figure that out myself.

Especially all the ones in Lakeview. They are shocked that water is flowing to them.

No, there is no connection at all. Don't be silly.

alright, that was only my speculation; this just seems crazy to me
and from reading the nextdoor app, people said it has never been this bad in 30 years (besides katrina)
are we really just going to go with, "its just a bunch of rain"- there has gotta be some reason midcity is getting slammed this badly, right?

Would the low wall canal design handle the volume any better? I want the low wall canal for aesthetic purposes, but wonder if it would be better.
If you know.
If you know.

People are full of shite. May 8th was worse than this. I also had two cars flood out in highschool due to street flooding in midcity and we had regular street flooding and water in our house at ground level multiple times in Lakeview growing up. It's a bunch of new residents who don't realize how low lying mid city and lakeview actually are.

Seriously, Good luck, I'd hate having to worry about that kind of stuff.

It's rough! We were out with friends yesterday at breweries and I came home to grab something for the baby. Couldn't make it down our street so I pulled up on grass and waded home on foot. I normally park behind this van. This was the view from my porch in the 7th ward.
I ended up driving around for 2 hours trying to get back to the warehouse district. Mr. Cubs had to Uber to Walmart to buy a bottle and formula because I had all the bottles for baby with me. It was the worst feeling trying to get to my family and being stuck. Glad we're all home for the downpour today.
