Are you in New Orleans? I know folks who used the loxL firemen who have their own moving company. Surely one of them could drive it for you, rent a car to come back. Or has a hitch for their pickup truck.

They used to be really acomodating. A friend didn't want to drive a U-Haul with all her stuff, so she hired them. They loaded it, hitched one of the guy's cars to it, drove it to the destination, unloaded it, turned in the UHaul and car carrier, and drove their car back to NOLA.

will they do it, wasn't sure if they would be willing to go about 300 miles

They're probably willing to go anywhere. It's the fact of the matter if you're willing to pay to get it towed 300 miles. My suggestion is give a Mexican $100 and a roll of painters tape and let him slap "In-Tow" on the back. Boom, profit.

I’ll drive it up there and take a train, bus, plane back to Nola for a fair price, after all expenses paid.

When I was in automobile sales we would occasionally ship to customers out of state on a flatbed

Charges would generally run $400-700 for an insured professional carrier.

Too many dead brain cells to remember names of carriers but call a local auto dealership you trust and they can undoubtedly provide a few names/ numbers.

InB4 trusted autobdealer is oxymoronic!

On your schedule figure $2 per one way mile, or if you’re flexible post it on a car hauler board and it should run $150-$450 depending on where it’s going to/from, with up to a two week window.

I've shipped one, but it was out of state. Same company works in state if you want to give it a shot: https: A-1 Auto Transport. Probably shouldn't cost more than $500 or so, probably less if you shop around. If you search around that site I listed, they've got some directories of other local options too.
