That can't be good baw. Get your bloodwork done if this has been going on a long time to see if your liver enzymes are out of whack which could indicate some serious issues.
I drink anywhere from 60-90 beers a week. I get a full blood test every year, and my liver enzymes are perfect. In fact, every year I keep thinking one of the metrics is going to be worse than the prior year. Never happens, and I have had this blood test every year since 2013. In fact, if I compare to 2013 levels, they are all still good.

I know others like that. It's a strange thing... some people's bodies can handle it and others can't... like at all.

Do I miss alcohol? Yes and no. I don't miss the effects, but I do miss the taste of a good Old Fashioned or hoppy double IPA. I miss that more than I do the buzz. But I know that I can't go back. Ever. Could I have a drink and be OK? Yes. But I never know when that drink will turn into 10 drinks, and I can't ever go back to being that person. So that means I will always need to be at 0 drinks.
Could not have said it better.
Been about a year and a half since I quit.
No doubt, one of the best moves I have ever made.
Feel better, look better, and function better.
Maybe I'm just dumb, but I never fully appreciated the impact alcohol was having on all aspects of my life until I quit.

About 1.5-2 bottles of wine per night. Half a bottle of liquor if it’s a liquor night.

That's great man. Everyone's liver handles alcohol different and it seems you've got a very versatile one that most would be jealous to have.

Every friend that I have or had (dead) who has had health issues drank something other than beer, like vodka or bourbon. They also consume alcohol without eating. Habitual consumption of hard liquor and the combination of not eating is deadly. Literally.

Sure, I quit every night when I go to bed

Alcohol withdrawal usually last about 3 days to completely pass.
You'll be puking every few hours and won't have much appetite. When you can finally eat normally again, you will have gotten past the worst of it.
You will sweat a lot. Keep a fan handy.
You won't be able to sleep for a couple days and will be depressed.
It's a real relief to get to the other side. Lots of severe alcoholics stay that way because drying out sucks so bad it's easier to just stay drunk rather than feel horrible.

Been sober over 4 years. After 40 years of being a half functioning drunk, the first 4-5 months were rough. But I started feeling better overall after just a few weeks. I quit cold Turkey and it is the best choice I’ve ever made. I’m 65 and feel 45. All bloodwork is perfect as well as vitals. My immune system is as strong as it was when I was in my 20’s..

I did about 3 months ago. It wasn't that the drinking itself was causing any problems, but I was consuming a good 500 calories in bourbon every night before bed, which was taking its toll on my waist-line. My gym routine and diet have stayed the same, but I'm down 17 pounds. Never got sick and haven't really missed it after the first week.

I was never a huge fan of AA, but there are other resources.
If AA doesn't work, the other big ones are SMART Recovery, Dharma Recovery, and Celebrate Recovery.
SMART is CBT (science) based.
Dharma is Buddhist based.
Celebrate is Christian based, but leans heavier on the Christian faith than AA.

Almost 4 years here. Binged when i drank but not an everyday drinker. First 3 months was rough. And the shakes happened on the weekend, when i binged. After that, nothing. Cravings took about a year to disappear. I play music out and that was the roughest part. But, wouldn't go back for anything.

I’ve never quit, per se, but I’m able to go long stretches without alcohol. I’m fortunate in that I just don’t always want it.

So you're a functional alcoholic?

I quit again and haven't had a sip of booze since November. I was taking about 3 days do drink a fifth/750 of bourbon or a week to drink a handle. I may or may not have started with a beer or a glass of wine some nights.
So far no problems. I woke up a little easier each morning.
I will probably still drink socially because I don't have a problem there; what I really want to quit is the drinking alone on a nightly basis.
