Find the bar Mark Chestnut sang about in Too Cold At Home, it has to be around there somewhere.

Go over to the rest stop/information center at Orange, TX and you can walk through the swamp, then head over to Baytown for dinner and shopping at Buc-ee's.

I honestly didn't know people drove to Beaumont as a final destination.

Dream Street is still there I think. Years ago it was alright. Went for a bachelor party about 7-8 years ago. It was horrendous.

Bare Elegance used to be the place to be. BYOB.

OP. You pose a difficult question. Beaumont is a shithole. Crawford Street had a collection of new bars, but everything dies in Beaumont. I have no idea if they are still there or are ok. Phelan Drive used to have some new bars. Past the mall. The mall is now a pit. The Facebook crowd makes Parkdale Msll sound like its Detroit. Don’t know how accurate.

Anyone with means escaped Beaumont to lumberton. That should tell you something.

They don’t. We’ve been in SWLA with family for a while and wanted to make a day trip somewhere for a few hours. Houston too far.

Always check out the I-10 construction that has been ongoing for 30 years now.

If you make the trip, and like Italian food, make a stop at Frankie's. It's on the I-10 westbound service road. It is the tits! Best Italian I've ever had, and the atmosphere is just as good as the food. It's a hidden gem.

Besides that, I've got nothing.

So, no there's nothing fun in Beaumont unless you like chain restaurants.

With one exception, Daddio's Burger. Place is legit.

Also, use the middle lane if you want to pass all the cars in the left lane on that stretch.

All those people going to Vidor and Rose City.

One of my trips through last year I noticed that VIDOR looked nicer than the last 2 miles of Beaumont!? Thats a bad sign.

Mark Chestnut, and Tracy Byrd both used to sing at Cutters before they got big. Sadly, Cutters left us many moons ago.

OP, head to Nederland and eat at Sartin's on Nederland Ave. Order the BBQ crabs. Thank me later.

Or, Head down Phelan in Beaumont to Elena's and order the Chili Rellano.
