Lol.
And I kinda doubt pirates have ever had a long life expectancy.

People are not getting scurvy directly from the drug. This is an indirect effect. People are eating less and not incorporating vit. C in their diet. The drug itself does not contain anything that causes scurvy.
Every time one of these "dunk" threads appears for new products or scientific advancements it just shows how ignorant people are to how science and societal progress work. If we were to graph either, it wouldn't be a straight line of progress. That's the point of doing follow up studies like this to determine issues, so we can issues new guidance. That's why it's called trial and error.
Note: not on GLP-1s or any similar meds and my comments don't even directly/exclusively apply to those drugs.

But not eating, or not eating enough of the right stuff, is simply not a sustainable path forward for anyone
The average American can go on for quite some time on a reduced diet. Maybe eat an orange and take some vitamins?

Scurvy is caused by crossing that forbidden bridge over the Ponteran. If not scurvy, the alligators will eat you alive if you're full of GLP-1.

People are getting scurvy from GLP-1s
thats because they are being abused and its all based on the dumbass dosage chart put out. they should be staying minimum effective dose for as long as possible. Unless you are stalled for 6-8 weeks, should not be going up on dose.
also people are stupid, they use the drugs then dont prioritize protein nor the gym so they lose tons of muscle....why????
not because of the drugs, but because people are dumb af in general.

There will be a phone book size list of side effects from these things in 5 years
medicine has been used since 2005...how come we dont have this phone book size list of side effects already?
how come those with naturally higher levels of GLP produced by the body dont have these side effects you speak of?

Shocking revelation there — people that weren’t healthy before losing a ton of weight…still aren’t healthy after taking drugs to lose weight.

It's still new. Like I said that's what follow up studies like this are for. We're probably going to have full development plans for various progresses in a few years. They're kind of just figuring it out now in the face of crazy demand and non-doctors pushing it without the proper education/comprehension.

but its not new. its only new for fatloss, but it has been used off label for over a decade for it and close to 2 decades for diabetes.
just because yall are just finding out about things, doesnt mean it is new

Corona (Light) with lime... problem solved
I always tell people that I’m fighting off scurvy when I put a lime in my Modelo
... in a shot of tequila with lime.

THIS use is new, which is what's causing all the explosion in demand and the unscientific distribution without proper education that is causing problems.
I'm just saying that in the future, we will likely have multiple comprehensive developmental paths to avoid those problems.
Protein protocols, vitamin C protocols, etc. Not just pharmacists compounding questionable versions/amounts of GLPs for people without proper education/supervision.

we already have all that. The sad part is these medicines are actually anti catabolic but if you just dont eat...there is nothing that can be done to preserve muscle.
but we already know that if you eat 0.82g of protein per lbs of body weight and keep the caloric deficit to roughly 500 and lift progressively 2-3 times per week that you will maintain muscle mass for the most part.
when reta finishes the last phase of trials and is fully approved...it will help because it is even better at preserving muscle mass
