I’d be shocked if the Forge ever actually breaks ground, would be cool though. Just did a hard hat tour at the new Rockefeller building, 1072 Peachtree. It’s been a while since Atlanta had a legit skyscraper go vertical. View of the Midtown cluster, pretty wild when you can see the Blue Ridge on a clear day:
Haven’t read through the whole thread, but it’s always interesting to see folks from economically stagnant places dogging on a southern city that is pro-business and making things happen.

Every time they build something they say it will transform the city! And then it doesn’t! As long as crime, homelessness, crappy public transportation exist, and city officials that are corrupt and nepotism rains supreme, Atlanta will always be crap. I lived there 17 years and thank God every day since I left. Saw many so called transformative projects and none successfully transformed anything but made many public officials and developers richer. Until core problems solved this will be nothing more than 10 more years of traffic jambs

As someone who used to spend a lot of time in Atlanta because of the job I had my observation is no doubt parts of Atlanta is indeed a shite hole but there are parts of it that are pretty nice. Much like most major cities I would imagine.
The traffic is fricking brutal though, especially for a small town boy like me

Baton Rouge - 4 yrs
Houston - 7 rys
Atlanta - 22 yrs
It's this simple- Atlanta>New Orleans>Baton Rouge>Houston.
All of these cities have run-down, crime filled areas, but Atlanta has more
nicer areas to move to or visit than the other three cities combined.

Atlanta - 22 yrs

That big huge park in the second project looks like a wonderfully majestic place to get robbed and murdered while steeped in local culture.
