All State is the only one we stay away from.

Cincinnati Financial is lesser known in the South, but they are great. Only downside is you may have to go through an independent agent to get them

Get a quote from Esurance as well. I use them or Geico, whoever is the cheapest. It doesn't matter who you have, if you have a claim the adjuster will treat you like a felon.

USAA. During Katrina my truck flooded. One phone call explaining my truck was under water at Jackson Barracks and had a check to my house in four days. No pictures, no adjuster looking at it, they just took my word.

It's two tier. They bend over backwards for the service member. Dependents riding their coattails, not so much. No problem with that, but people getting in under those conditions should be aware.

As a coat tail rider, this has not been my experience at all.

Have USAA. Got in a car accident two months ago, car totalled, still treating for major injuries so insurance process still ongoing.

Took a little bit longer than it should have to process out the totalled vehicle, but overall service has been good with USAA. New vehicle is insured with them.

Yes, pricier than some others but I know they'll take care of me. Don't see myself switching

Geico sucks arse. I have Geico. I got hit with someone who had Geico,(3 car accident) and it was a terrible fricking experience. But I still have them because they are cheapest.

Dropped USAA today actually. Homeowners/Auto both went up with no claims. Called a broker and went with Travelers. Saved a little over $900.

Is Amica in Louisiana? It’s a solid company. The problem is a lot of solid companies don’t offer coverage in Louisiana due to the inherent risk of uninsured drivers (for auto) and flood prone houses. To come full circle, that’s probably why they are a solid company.

Don't know about how they handle your claim as a policy holder, but if you are hit by another driver with them, prepare yourself for a screwing. Probably better off to just go ahead and get a lawyer involved.

USAA and it’s not close.

I will say though that today I called them and it was the first time I’ve ever been disappointed. Their verification process changed and it is a PITA. Not sure if that’s a reaction to the recent breaches or what, but it pissed me off.

Same for me. Their military-friendly commercials are BS.

I have been with USAA for 4 years. Got into a hit and run last year and had no problems handling my claim. I have banking with them also. I use to have Progressive for my motorcycle insurance but after I lost my bike in the 2016 flood, rhe quickly paid my claim and dropped me.

USAA for life

I have been with them for about 20 years. Never an issue. Use them for auto and home insurance, plus some banking.

It’s funny people saying USAA is more expensive. USAA is hundreds less for me across all y insurance products that GEICO, Progressive, etc. You must be in their shitty tier.

You do realize, posters here who have USAA live in different states right? Premiums will fluctuate from state to state, which is weighed more heavily than said “tier” you’re making reference to.

Check State Farm. They have good options for discounts on youthful drivers if they are accident/ticket free and get good grades in school. No insurance will be cheap with a 19 year old son though.

State Farm, Progressive, and Allstate are the only companies that mandate OEM parts. All others will go aftermarket if it beats oem markup. Worked in that industry fpr years and dealt with all of the insurance companies. Hands down the worst was Go Auto (No surprise)

As far as cheapest goes, it honestly depends on what risk tier you are in and each company has completely different metrics. The one I work for there are about 400 and that's without figuring in the vehicles yet.
