I don’t know that “# of customer who lost power” is the best measure of impact from storm. The question is:
How much physical damage occurred?

# of poles down.
Ft of wire that had to replaced.

Sometimes power can go out for a really dumb reason but it’s a quick repair.

If I preformed this poorly at work I wouldn’t have a job. We are cutting town and coming back Wednesday. I’m hoping we have it back by then - Cheshire.

I don’t blame you. When the generator went down earlier I told my wife we should bail to the ranch. And we would have but I got it back up and running.

Ha yeah i do the same now. I consider it like one of those old gas station lines that ding to let them know someone is there. Maybe if enough people run over it CenterPoint will hear it. Got to laugh at how bad this is

CenterPoint really screwed the pooch in communicating both promptly and accurately

I think that's true, but I also believe a lot of people underestimated the strength of this storm, for whatever reason. I'm not sure why. It was messaged pretty well from the NHC (speaking solely to impacts), and there have been recent storms to draw comparisons to. I think, to an extent, it was underestimated by the general public, and as a result expectations for recovery were way too high. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to how local outlets handled the lead up to it, so I can't say much about their messaging.

With these two updates, that makes 11 confirmed tornadoes in the NWS Shreveport CWA so far. 3 EF2, 7 EF1, and 1 EF0.

Add three more EF1s for a total of 14. I don't know if they're done or not.

Got power back in sienna today around noon according to my ring camera. 4.days. Could be a lot worse but the lack of communication is what pissed me off more than anything. Still many in the area without power.

My SiL up in the gleanloch area still without power. They have a whole home generac and it started pouring oil yesterday and shutdown. Now waiting on generac to do something.

Generac has had bad quality rep. I was helping my friend's father look for generators about 2 years ago and went to the Home Depot near the Woodlands on I-45. There I ran into a retired electrician who had installed standby generators in houses. He said, in hist experience, 40% of Generacs he was involved with failed before they actually had to power a house for real.

I don't remember if you posted it, or someone else, but Centerpoint spends $17 per customer trimming trees, but Entergy spends >$60 a customer per year clearing agricultural threats. Nearly every outage in Katy seemed to be related to downed limbs that should have been trimmed, at least that I drove by. That, or unexplained, power everywhere within 100' but just not right here scenario.

If people and businesses trimmed their trees every two years, at least out here, outages would have been decreased by a significant percentage.
