In my opinion, brooks brothers makes much higher quality stuff than polo.

I made the switch from scrubs to dress attire not that long ago and I like jos a bank. Get the wrinkle free and they always have a sale going on. Also, the slacks are much better made. Haven't tried brooks bros, I know they are a step above, but I'm hard pressed to spend brooks bros prices
I'll eventually get there... Having to break myself in to nice clothing. So much easier wearing the same green scrubs everyday.

I wear em all the time, but mostly with jeans and boots. Wouldn't recommend em for a job interview.

No but you wouldn't really need it. They are cut very well. Southern marsh is not the kind of dress shirt you would wear a tie with. They have great casual button downs

Never worn BB before, but if their slim fit is like other brands, only skinny guys with zero muscle can wear them.

Their slim fit is like most brands regular fit. They have a super slim or some crap that is like most other brands slim fit.

slim fit is for muscular guys w/ thin waists. They have a slimmer fit for the skinny guys.

David Donahue Trim Fit is the way to go. Probably the best collar on the market.

Ike Behar makes a nice dress shirt as well.

For decently priced everyday business wear:

1) Brooks Brothers
2) Gold Label Roundtree and Yorke (Dillards)
3) Eagle

HM: Sero by Forsyth from Stein Mart, if you can find them. I usually only find the casual patterns, but they make nice button downs, far superior to anything else you'll find in the 30-40 dollar range.

To be honest, nothing comes too close to BB, save perhaps Gold Label, which is very good and pretty cheap. Eagle shirts are pretty nice but not as crisp with the non-iron, and they're too short for some reason.

Jos A Bank and Brooks Brothers wrinkle free are the best for daily use.

Jos. A. Bank are nice when new but they don't last very long. I've had several that started fraying at the edges or ripped from "dry rot" when unbuttoning. They also don't fit me as well as BB slim fit.

If you want cheap but just as nice as Jos. A. Bank IMO is Costco's Kirkland non-iron's. My boss who is a fashion snob and spends tons of $ on his clothes complimented them and was shocked when I told them where I got them and how much they cost.

Best part of SM is that I don't have to iron the thing every time I wanna throw one on.

They're not like that. BB Regular Fit is for the fattest SOB in the world - or your average 60 year old New Orleans lawyer. BB Slim Fit is equivalent to a normal regular shirt. I wear BB Extra Slim Fit and even those aren't too skinny.

For a first batch of nice shirts you can't go wrong with BB non-iron in whatever fit works best. Down the road you can move up the ladder to Eton, Gitman Bros, Kamakura and all the rest.

They call it tailored fit, I think. I picked up a few white ones for like $5 each when they had a sale.
