And got to visit some places I would never have gone to otherwise from Texarkana to Fairbanks to NYC. (good and bad).

Sounds like me when I traveled. I went to San Juan, NYC, SF, Anchorage etc, but also Gary, IN, Youngstown, OH

To those who mentioned having a company car- that’s probably the biggest somewhat common, realistic perk you can have as a middle class employee.. I’ve had an assortment of Fusions, Impalas, Edges and other cars/trucks , mostly decent , non embarrassing vehicles.. but I’ve always thought it adds probably $15k-$18k per year to ur base salary since, as mentioned, no car note insurance or gas.. there was a 10 or 12 yr period when i could not have told you whether gas was $1.50 per gallon or $4 per gallon .. Hard to beat that .

Every Friday off. 6 weeks vacation a year. Unlimited sick days...not that anyone really abuses that. LSU, Saints and Pels tickets from vendors.

I've had corporate jobs is the past where we flew to cool destinations for "sales meetings." The occasional trip where everyone brought their families along.

My last 2 jobs it was the travelling that was a great perk along with a nice per diem. Traded all of that 2 months ago for a M-F gig. For a chef that is a dream.

The biggest perk of my current job is there is a 2.5 acre pond loaded with bass and sacalait. It's rarely fished and you need badge access to get to it. A couple of weeks ago I was fishing with my son and ran into the CFO of the company fishing with his granddaughter. He has a camp on Lake Guntersville and now I have access to his camp and boat anytime I ask. We both spent father's day loading up on sacalait and drinking bourbon.

Perk of my job is I do not have to pay Social Security(FICA).

Perk of my job (self-employed) is that I get to pay double FICA tax compared to you W-2 employees.

Yep same (though I had no international travel). One week it was San Diego, the next week Miami. Then I’d have a month run of Tulsa, Midland/Odessa, Akron, and Jackson.

Got to the point where I’d just try to get to a state I’d never been just to check it off my list rather than Dallas for the 20th time

Oilfield perks..

We had a house in Brazil for the managers, had a house in Houston too. I only made 1 trip to Brazil but unbelievable experience.

Leave work at 2 every Friday to drink at twin peaks with boss all company paid.
Houma oilmans for a week straight with pay and everything paid for.

Paid cell, gas bill, 600 a month truck allowance.

Paid for a trip for me and wife to Vegas.

Other job had lease for elk in Colorado and lease in Missouri. Only paid for license.

shite was crazy.
