In the work world this was told me in my very first interview: "Titles are meaningless. What do you do?"
In my 40 year career I've met people with big titles that were meaningless, and people with no title that were valuable.

1. When it matters, don’t sweat the small things.
2. What you are working for is retirement and grandchildren. Both are blessings that you will
want to enjoy someday. While you can’t do anything about grandchildren, you can put a
plan in place to comfortably retire.
3. Enjoy the good times and embrace the bad times.
4. Learn from other’s mistakes.
5. Learn from your mistakes.
6. Before you make any important decision, ask yourself if it’s illegal, immoral, or unethical.
You need three clear “no’s” to proceed.
7. You need to give honest and timely feedback. If someone’s fly is down, quietly tell them. It
is better for them to find out early on than to go all day like that.
8. If I don’t know something is broken, don’t expect me to fix it. I would tell anyone who
worked for me this at our first meeting.

"So shines a good deed in a weary world"- a slightly amended version of a metaphor used by Portia in Merchant of Venice but I heard it on Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

It’s always better to regret the things you did, than to regret the things you did not do.

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day."

Yea stuff like that sounds good up until a certain point. Like getting diagnosed with terminal cancer, tell someone like that to just change their attitude… and the same goes for a lot of these lame arse quotes people have posted. Weak, super weak, one guy says “money talks and bullshite walks”. Really? That is the one quote that helps you in life? Terrible, weak, lame.
