I used Jules Guidry, highland homes. He has an office in Terra Bella. VERY transparent. Not cheap, but does quality work if that's what you want.

Anyone know of a builder/developer that might be interested in developing 40 acres up near 1083 and 40?

Lacombe is the next stop. Nothing but green space between abita/mandeville and slidell. Already, a big development planned at the 434 exit behind the technical college. You can see the cuts for the streets on google maps.

Thats the real name of the Parish. It was named after an Indian Chief, St. Tammanend. Named by the local priests.

There is no such thing as a honest contractor/ home builder.
Get several quotes and beware of add ons or change orders. This is where they screw you.

Just because a house is expensive doesn't mean that it's high on quality or architecturally significant.
This is what mcmansions are all about.
I grew up in construction so I can see right through the bullshite as soon as I walk through the front door but most homeowners can't tell at all unless they have very discerning tastes and a keen eye for quality products.
I've been in half a million dollar homes that didn't even have cased windows.
