The Pirelli p7 plus has been at the top of those tire rack ratings 4 years running for a reason.
I work in the industry and myself, my boss, and most of my customers ride on pirelli. Not as well known or expensive as a Michelin but the same quality.

Spend less if you want. Nothing beats Michelins. We have 5 cars in our family. Only one set is Michelins. They are by far the best tires we have owned.

In the past few years I bought 10 trucks all with Michelins. I avgeraged around 70k to 90k a year on the trucks and get a new truck every year. I have never replaced Michelin tires they just seem to last.
Now I rotate my tires every oil change and have the tires balanced around 30k miles.

Every tire manufacturer make some great tire models and some poor tire models.
As two others have said, go to TireRack and look at the reviews for all the tires that fit your vehicle.

I always used bridgestone's because I got a family discount but that dried up about 2 years ago. I switched to continental for 2 of my cars and they ride softer and quieter. Hopefully they last for a long time but no complaints so far.

I have actually swapped brands a number of times through the years. on my current vehicle, I decided to stick with the OEM tire, which was general because they received very good reviews on tirerack.com. Currently on my second set and have 160K on the vehicle. If I buy another set, it will again be general tires.

Have had Mich and they are way overpriced and ride hard.
Car has Pirelli and they ride good, have 40K on them and look like they have another20-30 K
Replaced Mich on SUV with Bridgestone Dueler Alenza, they have 25K and are doing great
It is not as much the brand as it is the tire ratings, traction, use and Treadwear rating

I have owned several higher end vehicles. Most come with Michelin tires. They are the best I have encountered. They are not always worth the cost. I have had 3 vehicles with Continental tires and they were the WORST tires I have ever utilized. I replaced Michelin tires with Hankook tires and I liked them better due to their being 50% less cost and I received 10,000 more miles on them. They are a great value but they were not as soft riding nor did they hold the road quite as good as Michelin. I am running Perelli now and they are right there with Michelin. Just my observation. Hope it helps. The Hankook tires were much better than I ever thought they would be.

My 2012 Taurus had Goodyear Eagle GT tires on it which lasted 55K. I replaced them with Hankook tires, which still cost me 900 bucks because of the size tire.

I put some brand new Coopers on my kid's Sentra and instantly felt like I upgraded the car to Altima level.
I recommend.

I'm shopping for tires now for a 2015 Subaru Outback. 225/60R18. Hard to find, thinking about the online option.

I was always a Firestone guy, but honestly, I'm a cheapest thing I can get now that my Tahoe has 180k+ on it. Bought 4 Geotrac tires off EBay for @$100 each. Firestone tires are $230 each.
