Single digits in BR is in all time record territory. I doubt there's any way to get there without a snowpack and perfect radiational cooling conditions.
Precisely. Hadn't happened since 1989

Exxon better get their shite together this time

Looks like next week is going to be AWESOME!! Bring on the cold!!

Just hold the ice...don't want the ice.

Nah, I'm sure she would take quite a bit more than ten dollars.

The euro looks to be a lot slower with the cold air not pushing it through south LA until the 26th. And not quite as cold either. I'm not sure about any precip as looking at the euro is a pita and I stopped on ground temps.

That's got nothing on single digits. Single digits is really getting into "cold enough to kill you if you're unlucky" territory around here.

I remember as a kid it got into single digits in either 94 or 95 and it froze the catfish ponds over solid where you could drive a 4 wheeler on them. Wind chill was in the negatives

That's not what I want to see. Going to the inlaws in McComb Sunday morning and dammit, I'm coming home Monday whether it kills me or not. No way am I staying there longer than I have to.

None of this will show up in official forecasts yet. These are model runs, not forecasts.

Oh, I remember that well....that night a neighbor's house caught fire from them using a heater. I remember my father and I freezing our keisters off standing outside, watching the firemen work. I want to say the wind chills were about 5 below zero.

Was working nights outside in that weather. Ice came down the Mississippi River at that time.

Maybe someone can help me understand better.

We had a huge ice issue a year or two ago that lasted a couple days. Ice was on everything. Roads, trees, etc. never lost power. The snow the other day knocked out power everywhere.

Is snow heavier than ice? Should I hope for ice instead of snow?
