I think killing him was definitely the way to go and even if they didn't want to, I don't believe they had many options. It was dark and there was gunfire everywhere. They saw a dark figure in a dark room grab a woman as a shield. SEALs react with force in these situations. The guy could've been about to blow himself and the entire house up.
Osama was a coward until his last breath and that should be made known in the Arab world.
I can't wait for the day all those pictures are released. It will probably be 30-45 years, but I can't wait.

The DNA tests were run on the Vinson.
Also, huge amounts of intel were taken from his house. They didn't need him alive. KSM spilled the beans on 9-11. He was the mastermind after all.

That can happen if the interrogators don't know facts beforehand. They usually won't start asking or waterboarding until the intel folks know enough to tell if the person is lying or not. It's interrogation 101.
