There used to be a pool hall in an old wooden shack right near this same bridge. Anyone remember that place?
I actually had my 5th grade birthday party there.

Comite Amusement.
Wow, I forgot all about that place until just now. I went to many birthdays there.
St. Alphonsus was my elementary school.

Same. Did it have a lot of arcade games along the walls with the tables in the middle?

Wow had completely forgotten about that place. Y’all unlocked a hidden memory. I remember a party or two over there.

Mrs. Helen was a kindergarten teacher at SAS...she and her husband owned Comite Amusement.

I've been telling my wife for the last year it's time to gtfo of Central before property values tank...she of course is oblivious to it except when she comments on how much the clientele at Oak Point has changed

It's very noticeable, just in the last 12-24 months.

This is probably most accurate. And, likely the same people that did the murder at the Chase Bank on Sullivan and Triple B. Turf and Drug shooting
ETA: I would imagine before it gets too bad, Central folks will take care of the rise in crime on their own. My guess is most homes are heavily armed. It is Central.

It’s like fishing, when you put your boat in the water you scatter out. The more boats put in the water the more the boaters scatter.
There are so many thugs now they are scattering into Central, Livingston, SG, and Prairieville.

Whoa I remember that place. We spent quite a few evenings there before going out in BR in the early 90's. The stairs were practically falling apart to walk into the place

While central thruway is a blessing, it is also a curse. Easy access from Stevedale, O’Neal, Florida Blvd, and tons more LP traffic through town. Greenwell springs, and hooper rd used to be the only two ways into central from the ghettos.

Was told this week that drivebys are rare in BTR.

On the way to Texas Club. We probably hung out with the same folks.

Both are false

Like 500 Mexicans lived there until it flooded.

Armed robbery at the Murphy in front of Wal-marks this past weekend as well. I told one of the guys working there that I was surprised the robber made it out. There are some baws out here, and they won't frick around when it comes to something like that.

I go to that location frequently. Sometimes it’s no different but other times you can definitely tell. Was looking for something one time and there was a lady with several kids that was on speaker phone and every other word was a swear.
