You know we're talking about the 9th ward right?

So they built them with normal treated lumber like almost every other house in existence?
Well now, thanks for joining the conversation idiot! NO houses in existence are built from normal treated lumber! I am not going to get into the technical explanations due to your obvious lack of mental capacity but if you are referring to pressure treated lumber that is used for rot resistance, it is rarely used as framing lumber other than floor systems within 18" of grade or a flood zone or an exterior deck. 90% or more of residential framing lumber has no treatment whatsoever and is very susceptible to mold, mildew and insects. Try more lurking and less posting

Also, none of these takes away from Brad's attractiveness.

Damn skippy I will bet! Now I know you boys down Lafourche way may consider a duck blind, or a thrown together shack on the swamp as "homes" but they do not count in the world of residential construction. So show me something mister...and I mean something with walls and a roof built out of treated lumber.

If you do not treat it and do basic maintenance on it in this area, it will have issues 13 years later.
These houses had issues years ago, some in as little as a few months after the owners moved in. That's not a basic maintenance problem, that's shite construction problem. This isn't a new story, Make It Right has had to demolish a house it couldn't fix after roof issues. Go educate yourself then try posting again.

You got me good. We all live in duck blinds

Attorney Ron Austin said he plans to bring a lawsuit on the behalf of his clients against Pitt’s foundation in the coming weeks. Austin said some home have issues with porches, steps and roofs.
The "issues" they just showed on the news is simply neglect and it's ridiculous they covering that. They show loose boards on steps, geez just get your arse a hammer and nail that shite down. The mold on the outside of the house could be cleaned in a minute with pressure washer, or a little bleach and elbow grease. Just pure laziness.

Welcome to the Republican Party Mr. Pitt.

I worked for a company and we built 96 houses throughout mid city and the 9th ward. I had one guy call me 3 years later to come do some drywall patches, I explained that the house was out of warranty but I would come look at it if there was something major causing the problems. He said oh no all is good but we got a bunch of bullet holes from a drive by. At least he was trying to keep his up!

Talking about the exterior deck not the interior
Posted on 8/30/18 at 9:52 am to sicboy
I would say some of it is due to lack of maintenance. Then some of it due to just bad design, inferior product for the job, or bad installation.

And people wonder why Louisiana has the reputation it does.
