Not the same fish, but Asian carp are legit on the cusp of making it into Lake Michigan. Illinois has electric fences set up down river, but they're likely already in there. Could be a HUGE ecological disaster.

Our governor said one week before the election that they were going to renovate all of the lakes and surrounding areas. What happened to that plan?
He wouldn’t lie about something like this...right?

Plan is there and has been there. Still working on getting the money from private donations. It's not that far off though.

What they should do is turn City Park Golf Course into a beautiful central park kind of area. Public softball/baseball fields, nice fountains and running/bike lanes, good looking landscaping, big and nice dog park, etc.

And make it EXTREMELY well-lit at night.

They need to be drained, dredged
thwy dont need to be drained to be dredged. they could either be dredged with is really expensive, or do a rapid drawdown. That is draining the lake to get oxygen and light to the organic material at the bottom of the lake. This allows the organics to be broken down, but it smells really bad. Try selling that to a bunch of people that have multi million dollar houses on the lake.

We've got Asian Carp in lakes up here that jump up and knock people out of their canoes and shite. It's funny to watch, but it's really a terrible problem.

When I heard about this plan, I immediately thought about my paddleboarding friends. I will most definitely go watch and video them get hit by carp and fall in the lake.
But not sure the carp will jump if there's no motor and high speed involved.

Agreed...that goat ranch of a course is wasted space.

Like when they mutate and emerge from the lake to take over Baton Rouge.

I for one welcome our new fish overlords.
