Why must it be something that happened when she was young? I've known plenty of folks from good families that made bad life choices and ended up "fricked up."
The high profile entertainer lifestyle is a train wreck waiting to happen for most, but it also makes people like Brittney a multimillionaire with access to living that most of us could only dream of.
At the end of the day, she chose her boyfriends/husbands, she chose to cheat, and she chose to take the drugs. We all have bad things happen to us when we were young, but that shouldn't excuse poor choices made later. It may make it an understandable coping mechanism, but it doesn't excuse it as if it was forced upon us.

i can't see her, at this point, however, getting anyone more attractive than her current husband, so it's just a little strange IMO...
