There's one that is stationed on top of one of the buildings at my son's school.
Saw that yesterday, pretty cool.
Also the article says BR will use this drone to enter houses...yet it has a 16ft wingspan ??

just like they used drones to "clean" those shitty sound barriers along interstate. You spend thousands on drone operation rather than paying humans a whole lot less to actually clean it

Just saying. They did let everyone know they were airborne and even called out pursuit they were on. With that said, thwre were no protocols about them letting HQ know they landed safely

You sure about that?
I didn’t write the article. Take it up w/ WBRZ
I’m just the messenger
I am pretty sure even down here in Terrebonne Parish. The Sheriff's Office has drones and flies them for crowd monitoring for Mardi Gras.
So first in the nation is doubtful, unless someone edited the sentence wrong and maybe meant to say something about a specific drone technology or drone.

There are very small drones also. They can use them to fly into windows and doors to help clear a house in certain situations before officers have to make entry.

They obviously don’t need any new taxes. They will do anything to avoid doing good old fashioned police work.

Eventually there will come a point where there will be more drones than actual patrolmen. Using various AI techniques to spot crime as it's happening.
While I welcome the lower crime, I'm not keen on the idea that we're being visually watched pretty much 24/7. At some point privacy is more important than constant surveillance.
Imagine walking around naked or banging the wife in your fenced in backyard, only to have a patrol drone overhead and the police dept laughing away

Did you read the first word in my post?

Yeah I read first word. It was "Eventually ". Not sure what that has to do for the way of them being now. I guess Eventually is the source of your statement?
Posted on 1/15/26 at 8:06 pm to NPComb
State Police and EBRSO using them also
Posted on 1/15/26 at 8:09 pm to NPComb
BRPD is going to use these drones to fly over NBR?
Posted on 1/15/26 at 8:21 pm to Breauxsif
I’ve seen videos of them using them already during SWAT calls. They were going after somebody a year or 2 ago at some ghetto apartment off LSU’s campus and were using a drone.

They have been using drones for quite a while.
