Hard agree, it's relatively nice for how small it is, and because of how small it is you'll walk straight through security under 5 minutes. You gotta budget 45 minutes of security time for MSY.

DFW, I was wondering if that matters too as far as the flight path is concerned.

Oof… better than Houston, but I would feel much better about something coming from the northeast.

I would certainly be extremely nervous and start thinking about whether you can live with spending the night in Dallas or if you need to get back.

I’ve statistically probably flown more than you and the BTR airport is awesome.

Can show up right before the flight and stroll right onto the plane.

Might be the only great thing in BR
You could drive up to BTR 15 minutes before boarding and be right as rain every time.

I could live with it, it would just be super annoying as I'm turning right back around and flying out to California on Saturday I guess the issue is more about will the departure flight actually depart, and dealing with the fallout of leaving my wife alone during tropical storm weather....

My one very minor complaint is that if I’m flying at really off hours, they might not have the separate precheck line going. I can still walk through the metal detector, but if I have my laptop in my bag, I have to dig it out

Flying at 1030am on Thursday from MSY for the South Carolina game. Hopefully that thing is out of here by then.

Sounds like a great time for you to book the wife a long weekend at the beach

Have a scheduled flight out tomorrow morning approximately 7am.

You are fine unless you are coming home on Thursday. That airport might get 40-50 mph winds early Thursday morning. Nothing super dangerous if you are on the ground.....but not anything you'd want to land in.

Agreed. Fantastic little airport. It doesn't reflect EBR parish at all - and that's a good thing.

It's always safe to not fly. What you really to worry about is when it's not safe to fly.

If you don't have to check a bag. Then, you have to make sure that the person checking bags isn't working a different airline desk or actually loading bags on the plane.

Even more fun flying back into the airstrip and having to wait for bags for 45+ mins.

is embarrassing.

BTR is one of the easiest airports I've ever used.

What is embarrassing about it?

Its a small regional airport. Every small regional airport in the country has those attributes.

Expecting baggage to be like Houston or Atlanta is your problem, not BTR's.
