I just went from a 2016 F150 XLT to a 2019 Ram Laramie. I'm looking for a job farther from the house so I can spend more time in the truck. Love it.

Smart man, New trucks are cheaper than divorces.

I have a 19 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 5.0. So far I love it though the 10 speed transmission does take some getting used to.

The new Rangers look pretty sweet
I test drove one. They're pretty awesome. Have all the creature comforts, look nice and give the functionality most people need In a Truck. The towing capacity is obvi less. But it may be my next vehicle I get.

Are you serious? The 5.0 is one of the most solid motors being produced today. I’ll take the coyote over the eco boost 7 days a week.
I visit a ford truck message board and many people are having issues with the new 5.0. I don’t have first hand experience.

Do not buy a rental truck, ever.

I think it's mostly the 5.0's marriage with the new 10 speed tranny which was a joint venture between GM and Ford.

Not the motor. Maybe then 10 speed transmission, but not that coyote.

Yeah some transmission complaints. Also some concerns about the plasma lining in the engine.

I will say that I had a Ram 1500 Big Horn rental recently and was very impressed with the interior and how it drove and handled. Not so sure about long term reliability with Ram these days but would like to hear thoughts.
I would prefer to keep the price under $40k if possible as I am poor but I know it is doable provided I don’t load up on too many options. Speaking of options why doesn’t Ram have running boards on any of their trucks? Can the dealer not add them if you want them added?
I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 crew cab with just under 100,000 miles and it's been my favorite truck yet. I bought it new from Acadiana Dodge in Lafayette for right at $34k (and yes, it came with running boards).

I’d walk before driving a half ton Dodge Ram fiat piece of shite.

The Coyote is a fantastic motor
I own a F150, have spent like a month and a half in a Ram Classic, and two weeks in a Silverado. The Ram easily wins.
OP, you'd probably do yourself some good if you learned how to drive in high water. I've driven through water almost up to my windows plenty of times with no problems

F150 5.0 gets 17mpg going 80-85
Ram 5.7 gets 18-19mpg going 80-85

I've got a 16 f150 Platinum with the 5.0 and the 6 speed. I'll drive that thing till the motor dies. Which will be a very long time

Went with the 19 Ram 1500. Very happy with it.

I've said this before, but Dodge always has the best styling. If you could marry their styling with Toyota's reliability, you would have an amazing truck.

with the new skinny model GMC's out you can get a pretty loaded 2018 full size gmc at that price if you can find some left on a lot.

I'm seriously looking at a Ram this time around. Had the F150 and currently a silverado.
