One of my siblings has just been diagnosed with bone cancer, I am devastated, she and I are very close. Worse is the treatment she receives from the CNA's (aides) in the rehab center is atrocious bordering on abusive. This is not a state run facility, this is expensive private care. What it boils down to is that they have almost no empathy or compassion for old white people. This is not a blanket statement, some of these aides are wonderful people, the majority are not.

Bone cancer is one of the worst, most painful afflictions you can get, as soon as we can, I am going to try to get her away from a facility.

As a survivor, most days I wonder if I got the better end of the deal.

My wife had pancreatic cancer years ago.

I am glad they caught it in time. Most of the time with pancreatic cancer you are only given months.

My MiL out lived expectations with hers by about 2-2.5 years. We had to move her into our house at the end to assist with her care and that was the saddest thing I have ever seen.

It did give me the incentive to quit all tabbaco a month later because I never want to go that way.
