Lower leg shower cover. I used one like this after knee surgery. Worked well.

Several years back one of my kids had to get a cast. When I told my mom, she said "hope you've been saving your bread bags."

Walgreens sells them. Get the reusable two pack. I had to deal with this. Works great in the shower. If you go swimming or take a bath you'll need to tightly tape it but it's pretty water tight.
About $20 for 2 at Walgreens.

Get a Dry-Pro Air Tight cast cover. My 10 y/o son broke his arm a few weeks before we went to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica. Needless to say, he was a very active kid and we planned on snorkeling, water parks, etc. This thing was amazing and there was rarely a drop of water after hitting water slides and snorkeling. You suck the air out with a straw or a pump, and it seals up. Worked wonders.
Most of these others are "modified bread bags" and are water "resistant".
Here's an article, and they can be bought on numerous sites. Best Waterproof Cast Covers C
