He did terrible and that was part of the joke

He pretty much did a live action version of the cartoon character.

And I’m fine with it.

He lives in New Orleans but that's just as ridiculous. Ain't no coonasses living in New Orleans.

The New Orleans accent on TV is like the Boston accent. Often imitated, never duplicated.

Why cant they ever have someone do an accent like someone from the parish or the local little league coach at Galatas? Give me someone who talks like his last name is Daigle, Guillory, or Fontenot. Yall know the one.

If I ever make a movie I sweater god they will talk like the dads of the baws I grew up with.

I’m in the minority and also think he did a pretty good job considering.

Not nailed it, but not bad.

I am from SoLa, so I am worthy of an opinion.

I'm with you. That's definitely not the worst attempt at a cajun accent I ever heard. And he's obviously playing it up for all it's worth but I do hear some familiar stuff in there so he did his homework. I've just never heard ANYBODY nail a cajun accent that wasn't from here.

I’m not as hard on accents ever since I’ve seen a few people I grew up with make it on TV. Their accent sounded so exaggerated nobody could believe it. They can’t even stand to watch replays of their episodes lol. I wouldn’t have considered any of their accents strong either.

I watched a recorded session of the Cameron Parish Police juror meeting recently. I understand it’s Cameron parish but I’m around these people everyday and go fishing down there often. I damn near needed subtitles to follow what some of them were saying.

Maybe recording doesn’t do accents justice? Or people don’t realize how they really sound? No idea but something I’ve noticed…

Daniel Craig in Knives Out?

It was bad, but I liked it. Fit in well with the overall silliness of the movie. For some reason I liked it less in The Glass Onion.

The short-lived sitcom "Frank's Place" came close to nailing the NO accent.

The best film Cajun accent I recall was Armand Assante in "Belizaire the Cajun."

Armand Assante is Italian and Irish and is from New York. He wasnt trying very hard to hit the accent, he was probably a whisper away from it to begin with lol.
