Anything north of the 35th parallel.

It’s more-so losing your southern roots than anything. However, Knoxville feels the most least rooted southern city in the list.
You still haven't provided any sort of definition, parameters, criteria, etc. I would say that all of the cities you mentioned are southern cities and you're mostly full of shite.

I generally don't have much positive to say about Knoxville, but Petro's is legit.

Dallas–Fort Worth – The only Southern thing here is how fast the city falls apart at the possibility of snow.
Back in the early 90s, I had an apartment in Mesquite. I woke one morning to freezing rain and a bit of snow that had cars and trucks slip sliding down long exit ramps.
That morning I just sat at the window sipping coffee and watching all the pile ups.
Being a lifelong Louisiana boy, I drove ice and snow like I would mud and sand.

All these radio and TV personalities to the south from California, New York and New Jersey that moved to Texas, Tennessee, and Florida have certainly changed the cultural and political landscape.
I blame the politicos.
You may like Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Donald Trump and their posses but they definitely aren't southern and pollute the southern air with their yankiness.

How has Louisville not been mentioned?
ETA, the funny thing about it, though, is it sort of feels more southern than some of the other actual Old South cities named here. So, who the frick knows?

Nashville – If you have to remind everyone how Southern you are every five minutes… you probably aren’t. Real Southern cities don’t need marketing departments to prove it.
Nashville is Southern cosplay. It’s like honky Atlanta.

Ft Worth is western
