I won't say they're particularly southern, but anyone who has spent any time in Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville etc. should feel pretty comfortable in Dallas or Houston on a cultural level, IMO.

Why not just say the whole state of Texas instead of mentioning individual cities? The whole state (outside of parts of the east) has never been truly "southern"

If you live in Tyler or Jefferson or the like, you might think you are “southern”. Nowhere west of Houston would any Texan think they are “southern”.
