MAybe the saved tax dollars could go towards some sort of daycare for the off day?

Pure fantasy, but it would cost more than what it would save.

You're doing bad in your arguments lately.

Middle school and High School kids don't go to frickin daycare.
They go home and beat off/watch tv/play Xbox.

For a 6th grader?

That's kind of annoying for the parents. Even if its just middle and high schoolers, that's still a day you have to worry about what they are doing rather than being in class. Or spend more money entertaining them.

That would have been amazing back in school.

I garuntee you though that our coaches would have had stuff for us to do on fridays so we “stayed out of trouble”

I wonder how the sexual predator teachers feel about this. Fewer days to lay their game on in person? Or more days out of class to get their groove on with a student? Longer weekends away together, perhaps?

They have an entire day when parents are at work and they both have off. It's about to snowball even more.

They do this in quite a few school districts in rural Oklahoma and have for a few years. I guess they changed the law to have a yearly hour requirement instead of a number of days of school so they go an extra 15 minutes a day or some shite and are off Fridays.

While the school district plans on saving money, some parents will have to pay a little more for child care. Fiedler said the district offers child care services on the days kids won't be in school. It costs $30 a day which he admits isn't as great as the option parents currently have when their students are in class.

I don't get it. If they're going to be taking care of a lot of the kids on the "off day", why not just have school?

School cost the district money, with no incoming revenue. "Daycare" brings in a slight amount of revenue, and you're not running buses and utilities at every school in the district. It's a net gain for the district.

I just fail to see how this is good for the student.

For what’s worth, I would have LOVED to have had a day with my 6th grade math teacher. Absolute dime. Now, she a fine arse MILF.

ETA: No pics. I’m fairly confident her husband frequents here. Not opening that can of worms.

Not a single bit of this policy is for the benefit of the student. Unless you buy the bullshite about Monday allowing their teachers to become "more organized" and creating better lesson plans.

It's about employee retention/attraction and budget.

Is it plausible across all industries or at least most?

I have no idea, and it presents problems for companies with customer service elements if their customers don't follow suit, but there are massive companies that believe 9-80s make them more productive overall. I could see it becoming much more prevalent in the next decade. Honestly it feels like currently there's already an expectation across multiple industries that if you try to reach out to someone on a friday it's a coinflip whether you'll get a response until monday, but my pov may be biased.

A lot of school districts out there had school 3 days a week, to have their families help out at home taking care of ranches.

This isnt new.

The irony of all these teacher bashing replies in the middle of a damn Monday is too much.

Until May, I worked 4-10s and it was great! I definitely felt more productive and found I wasn't wasting as much time (most of that excess time was spent on here).

I now work 5-10s and Fridays are a ghost town past 12.
