In most police departments, these involve completely different officers and skill sets.
Depending on where the cop was hiding, maybe he saw your actions to avoid the erratic driver as the more aggressive and erratic driving; therefore, making you a bigger threat to other drivers. I know when I'm driving and I see these vehicles driving recklessly, the last thing I want to do is give them the opportunity to rear end me. I will actually slow down and let them get ahead so I can pay attention to them

The city just lowered the speed limit by 5mph on a couple of local thoroughfares after 50+ years of never being dicked with.

Theres some super weird fascination with sucking cops off like they dont walk an incredibly fine line with the law themselves. And ever cop thread always shows that the OT is incredibly pro tyrant cocksucker.
Personally I find it abhorrent that its a crime for you to lie to them but they can lie to you in the course of their duties. Government dependents collecting revenue is wild. Discussing anything with police can only hurt you because they will never testify on your behalf. They'll steal from you, beat you, and lie to you and tell you their safety is the most important thing, nevermind that they took an oath to protect you not the other way around.
I say shut up and take the ticket but ill save the hero worship for firefighters or plumbers over an a-hole cop any day.
