I got a pair of lucchese boots from my dad for Christmas last year. I thought it was an odd present since I’m not a cowboy boot type of person. Pulled them out a few weeks ago to break in so I can wear them and not hurt his feelings and damned if they aren’t super comfortable and didn’t require much break in time. I wouldn’t have guessed that by looking at them.

Yes they are. Ostrich is going to be a very comfortable boot.

Hell no. I can’t ride in one of those clunky things. I don’t even like all the new bells and whistles fancy English saddles with a ton of overstuffed paneling. I like to be able to feel them start to spook and spin before they do it

I still feel really stupid in the cowboy boots.

I have a collection of ostrich quill boots and loafers, my favorite in the boots are the Tony Lama's. Lucchese are very nice but expensive and I'd feel bad wearing them and getting them all muddy and shite.

ETA: growing collection, only like 5 or so now, but I'm getting some more colors in boots and moving on to a different kind of leather to build up the collection.

Everyday wear or dress?

Lucchese boots are exceptional, but stay away from the economy line.

Look for handmade, my preference is ropers.

I assume these aren’t work boots and mostly for stomping around the Galleria.

Just get the Luchesse, I think that’s the flex you’re looking for. They’re good boots and there’s a location on Westheimer I think. They’re plenty comfortable if you have them fit correctly and they’ll hold up fine.

I have some gator boots. How you care for them is important. 7 years old and they still look new. Boots can last forever if you don't abuse them and change the heel and soles periodically.

Luchesse - otherwise they might as well be work boots.

I don't have a particular brand I like. $200 buys you a decent pair of boots. I like boots that have a lower back heal on them. Easier on my back standing and walking.

I’ve got a pair of lizard Tecovas cowboy boots. Very comfortable and quality made. I’m getting a pair of ostritch Tecovas Saturday (hopefully) and I just got the GF some calfskin cowgirl boots yesterday for her birthday. I love my Tecovas so much I’m hoping to get some calf skin ones myself that I don’t feel so guilty for beating up.

My wife will find out Saturday morning (already wrapped and under the tree) I bought me a pair of Ariat's that she is going to give me for Xmas!

Pro Tip - Always pay cash for a gift for you buy for someone else to give to you as it leaves no trail.
