As far as the moniker goes, it relates to a humorous tongue in cheek, back and forth ongoing conversation with my priest. God commands I love my neighbor, my fellow man; but do I have to like him? I asked him-tongue in cheek-if Christian Misanthropy wasn’t an acceptable philosophy. Something like, I will love my neighbor as myself but I don’t promise to like him, especially if he’s part of a mob.
It’s ironic that recently on TD there’s been discussion of just how much people have come to dislike other people in general and why. If you haven’t already, you might check out that thread and post your definition there because some of those opinions make my “misanthropy” pale in comparison.
