Wash towels once a week... Hang and re-use for a week.

I hang mine on a hook. I use it until my wife takes if off the hook and washes it. She uses a new towel every time she showers. Seems silly to me.

2–3 days is about how long I use mine. I hang mine up immediately after drying off, but before I use it again I just give it a quick sniff
If it smells even the least bit musty, it goes in the hamper and I get a new one

This is common for women I think. My wife used to do this just because that’s what she did as a kid, that’s what her mom told her to do. But now she hangs it up on a hook after showering and uses it for a couple of days until it starts to smell musty then she gets a new one.

Bath towel - 2-3 uses then replaced. If anal area flossing with that towel is your thing, you should be replacing after each use, even if you clean your bum with a wash cloth.
Wash cloth - 1 time. Used once as certain orifices are included in the cleaning ritual. To reuse would be nasty.
Hand towel - 3-5 days generally.

I do it in hotels when they are stingy with towels or I bathe more than normal but see no need in my own home.

If you shake that 7-8 use towel out in the sunlight, the skin flakes fluttering about would look like a blizzard.
2-3 times is acceptable according the The Academy of Bath Hygiene.

Whenever I run a load of laundry, which is generally twice a week, I throw the towels in.

Sometimes I wonder how viruses, funguses, and bacterial infections keeps spreading around and then I see people like this and understand. Run a load of towels lazy arse.

This right here is one of those things that just aggravates me and I can’t let it go. Your only option is to use a large towel in those European showers and leave a big sloppy towel on the floor when you’re done. You can call guest services and ask but they look at you like you have two heads and have no idea what you’re talking about.
