Have any doubts, just look at American politics.

They play the tune, and America dances without hesitation.

I went to a school for 11 years that was covered in confederate flags. It was on our football uniforms, basketball court, cheerleader uniforms, yearbooks etc. Different times I guess.

They’re the red hawks or something now, aren’t they?

Yeah, I saw that the other day when I was driving by their new campus construction site. So gay.

It bothers me that it’s so taboo now simply because it’s a really cool design and asthetic. A really well designed flag no matter the colors

See, cool as hell.

Plus the whole “rebel” thing. Rebels are awesome. We’ve rooted for them throughout history. Standing up to empires. Fighting for their way of life against all odds.

Enough time has passed between the actual events that it shouldn’t be as controversial as it is.

The outrage is manufactured, not organic

No. I see a flag. I guess I’m “a bad person” but I am not offended. We have a purple and gold rebel flag somewhere.

It’s like Ole Miss being violated. Being a Rebel had meaning, but now they’re left with identifying with land sharks, and bears and shite. It really is so sad and embarrassing.

I didn't expect them to still be flying confederate flags everywhere but I didn't see any reason to change the mascot.

I grew up in that area but I hadn't been down Gurney in years and didn't realize they had changed names. I drove down the road that the current school is on and my high school building is gone. Must have been a casuality of the flood.

No, it doesn’t offend me at all...but I don’t place any particular political symbolism on it. I simply see it as a curiosity, and a part of our history. I could certainly see where a segment of society that feels victimized in general would see it as offensive.

Not in the least. Truth be known flags from other nations flown here tend to irk me.

That flood kicked CP’s butt from what I’ve been told. The whole place was inundated with water and they had to resort to temporary buildings to hold classes. I think they’ve even moved to a different class in sports. No longer are they associated with MPSA

Yeah, I went there from 82-93 or so. That road always flooded. We used to get out of school early about 10 times per year because there was 3-4" of rain in the forecast and cars might not be able to get down the road.

My grandpa always said never build where the palmetto’s grow.

it’s pretty low land. Good school though back in the day. Lots of really good people.

There are some good people in Central. I'm honestly surprised that school is still around since the public schools out there are so good.

It seems to be doing well post flood. Lots of development going on out there.

A lot of places flooded out there that never have before. My dad owns 3 rental houses in Central that I help manage when he's out of state and 2 of them flooded for the first time ever in 2016.
