this is correct. I use it to make sure there is no confusion btw my 7s and my 1s and my 2s and Zs. I tend to use this method when filling out government paperwork and mail as to not give the receiver any excuse to not process my paperwork.

Yep, use both every day at work. Line thru the Z as well. Survey work pretty much made it a habit of mine. Use the classic 1 too

I'll put them through 7's but rarely through zeds. Unless there are numbers involved and it can be confused with a 2.

I do it on all my 7’s, and I have no idea when, or why, I started doing it.
