Not sure if you saw my post in the GM thread..

I would pay the 1K and be done with it. i would get her to sign a release of some sort and then move on with your life.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I emailed her and told her I'd pay the second quote and I'm going to get a release from my attorney

No, it wasn't a date as far as I was concerned. But apparently he felt differently

there you go..

it sucks but if this is the route you want to take outside of insurance, it it's probably the best one.

definitely the most reasonable route here considering the circumstances

frick that....you're dumb paying that much

If you do decide to pay it....tell he you'll pay the body shop direct after the work is done. Dont let her pocket that money and not get the work done.

From someone who saw this happen in my extended family and it did not end well-

You need to get the title of the car in your name for several reasons: if something happens to your dad physically or legally, the car is his asset at present. The same goes with the Automotive Insurance as you do not live in the same residence with him. If he wants to help you fiscally, just have the bill sent to him. I'm not being judgmental. Well maybe a little about you learning to tie a tie.

It sounds like Paige is paying it directly to the women..no insurance is involved...unless Im missing something.

It does matter to me... If I'm paying you to have your car fixed then I want to make sure you get it fixed. Thats a form of fraud or even extortion if that lady told her if she didnt pay her for the damages she was going to call the cops and the insurance company to recover the money to have her car fixed and then she doesnt end up having it fixed.
