Look at Virginia as a model of what is to come. The only reason that DEI/ESG has faded is due to those who pushed realizing it was a political liability. One they win again, even by one vote, you can expect it become turbocharged and strictly enforced. They'll not run on it, business leaders will not openly champion it but once they gain power, you can expect the suits to fall into line.

You’re probably right. Just don’t let them win. Enforce voter id laws.

BASF. And they might be even more extreme.

Have a friend that works at Dow Plaq who is constantly saying his life is miserable at that company. Makes too much money to care to leave it though.
Constantly tripping, blowing up, old mechanisms, processes are outdated, hes shocked nobody has been killed in a few years there.

Chemical margins are terrible. And have been that way for a few years now. Not sure when demand will catch up to all the build out that has been done the past few years. Need a few plants to actually go under.

Dow is the only place I lnow where you need to have a critical procedure document on hand to take a dump.

DOW Chemical is a dumpster fire. They stripped all their contract labor to the bone. No insurance, no 401k match next to zero PTO. This all happened this year 2026. They been in code red for 2 years - zero capital spending. The gay CEO is a woke nightmare for them. He’s more about diversity and Trump hating then making chemicals and innovating. I think there I’ll be bought out soon. The stock price is in the toilet.

I remember someone telling me in the 2000s, I think I can date this, based on what I remember, around 2008-2009 that "Dow is one of those companies that promote gay shite"
The world "woke" wasn't used yet, but I am pretty sure Dow was one company that was on being "woke" early on..
But from what you posted, what does being the best place to work have to do with laying off people?
It can be the best place to work while cutting jobs.. Right? Im sure most big companies can eliminate a lot of jobs if they did a true evaluation and reassignments.

He mentioned having breakfast w an employee.
Unit manager?
Tech expert?
Nope.
Random black, lesbian, early career engineer.
His priorities have always been identity politics.

Yep. Half the Plaquemine site has been sold off to other chem. companies.
Trying to hold on to the plastics and ethylene businesses. That not going too well lately. The biggest joke are the “DEI” meetings disguised as “Safety Meetings”.

Petrochemicals / chems industry is suffering across the board. Has nothing to do with that.

I think this is becoming more of an industry standard. Once one of the big boys start doing something like this others follow suit.

Dow is worse off than anybody.
It's been compounded by woke shite like the zero emissions Canada debacle that's lost billions.
Dow worse off by far vs others.
That's on Fitterling.
He is a radical moron who needs to go.

Are you speaking for contractors? Because this is definitely not true for Dow employees. Not sure Dow controls what a contractors benefits are.

Everything you said in this post is absolutely true! It’s been time for him to go. I’m afraid what they have waiting to take over behind him is no better though.

my guess is the company true valuation is around 13 dollars a share when all the lease buybacks, busted projects and bad joint ventures are accounted for. The run up in price last month was most likely, possibly due to a buyout look see. Raw material pricing is down significantly and looked upon as a bright spot, except that it's down for the competitors also. That shows up as decreased sales volume for the first quarter, not a good look as its probably the most secure performance indicator
