This is a bit dramatic, but I do get a chuckle out of people who insist on trying to take a left in places where there's no possible way it will happen. If they don't sit there for an eternity trying, they'll inch into the road and block all the cars in the right lane while they wait for traffic on the left side of the road to finally have a break they can pull into.

I plan my routes to not have to make left turns against traffic, unless at a light. My wife thinks I'm psycho for the level of planning I do when I get in the car but it's just a habit now.

In my little town, if you enter the "main drag" (four lanes) from the street by the McDonald's it will take up to five minutes if you turn left. The traffic is surprisingly heavy and well spaced. You see very few people try to turn left.

My wife was driving back from the beach a few weeks ago and turned on the wrong road. Their was a turn lane and she got in it but didn’t feel like she had enough room to make the turn to go the opposite way so she tuned left into a drive leading to a church turned around in the church parking lot and made a right hand turn back on the highway. Cop watched her do it and wrote her a ticket for illegal U-turn. Thought that was pretty petty of him. There was nothing unsafe about what she did.

It's a failure of the highway department for not installing a left hand turn lane.

Earhart Expressway every day. Instead of going 2 blocks further to the light, they always make the left against heavy traffic when all they had to do was drive 2 more freaking blocks to the light. Multiple spots like that right before the expressway.

So your saying to avoid making a left turn from a parking lot in heavy traffic, just turn right, then into another parking g lot , against the same traffic???
