Yeah, that sounds the same as the whole "Fornication Under Consent of the King" thing as being the origin of the word frick. Sounds cool, but not really the origin of the word.
Yup. Everyone interested in the formation of the English language should listen to the podcast I linked. You’d think it would be boring but he tells it in a compelling way that blends the etymology and history seamlessly. Kind of how all languages have a similar progression of words for color
No matter the language it’s pretty much this
Hues
Black and white...
Light and dark...
Glow of the fire,
Promethean Spark,
Danger in darkness,
Dead of the night,
Moon stares upon us,
Lidless and white,
Red comes next,
From the wound,
comes a flood,
Life giving color,
Crimson is blood,
Green is things sprouting,
Out of the soil,
Nourishing blooming,
Tendrils uncoil,
Yellow is belching,
Rays from the sun,
Banishing darkness,
‘Til day is done,
Rivers and oceans,
Shimmering blue,
Fish from the waters,
Life from the hue,
Soil and earth,
Of the shade we call brown,
Life from the loam,
From where green Things are grown,
Fire and water,
Our sons and daughters,’
Sun and the fire we can name,
Blue is the river,
Green is the giver,
Red is the blood from our veins,
And As we learn,
We will yearn,
To call out these colors bright,
‘Til their names are many,
But in the beginning,
We only knew black and white.

Don't let facts get in the way of math.
He will never believe that what the PT spewed about the tax rate is wrong. We just think 'orange man bad'

Not a Bernie fan, it just reads like a chain email
I'm not even into politics but the numbers were so extreme that I had to see if that was legit.

It comes from Bernie saying on Colbert that everyone making above 29K would be taxed. He never mentioned a specific percentage

When you’re flying at cruising altitude of around 30,000 ft, the horizon you see out the window of your aircraft is at any time approximately 200 miles away from you

No word in the English language rhymes with orange.

Untrue,
If you’ll but allow me to go a bit askew,
Perhaps a single word,
That you might have heard,
Doesn’t rhyme with Orange,
But open up the door hinge,
You’ll see a whore minge,
There on a floor binge,
A little more whinge,
And it’ll sure singe,
When i rhyme citrus,
Let it be the litmus,
Now this rhyme is pure cringe

Geographically the closest state to the state of Hawai'i is alaska.
It's nearly 150 miles closer than California.
Standing at the top of the new bridge in Baton Rouge, it is the exact same distance to El Paso Texas, grand rapids michigan, nassau in the bahamas, and Mexico City.
