AI takeover is the new rapture
Every decade the Evangelists come up with a new technology to make the mark of the beast. It was Facebook in the 2010’s and cell phones in the 2000’s. Settle down.

If Elon is saying it then 24-36 months before the singularity and at least 4 delays after that.
And the singularity won't have key features promised when launched.
We will get the singularity before Tesla Roadster 2.0

I don't think a lot of people understand the capabilities of these AI applications. In fact, at a Christmas gathering this past year I was talking with someone I consider to be "tech savy" and I asked what AI application he uses and he told me "Nooo. I am not there yet, its going to take me awhile to wrap my mind around AI".
I have been working with it for a couple years now but going to get serious this year and nail down a couple of certifications. It is fun stuff and I think everyone should try it out, I love using it for personal reasons like generating recipes based off of your available ingredients.

There’s real concern AI is not providing non-AI businesses with enough bang for the buck. This could cause these businesses to pull back their investments with these companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Meta, etc.
We've hit the physical limits of processors, hence the reason they're building horizontally. Once we've achieved quantum computing then we will be more likely to hit "singularity" but that is also dependent on significant improvements to our energy infrastructure.

Wait until this new AI discovers Hitler

How, do you understand this?

Are we at the point with AI where I can say what type of porn I want to be staring in and it will generate it for me? That’s what I’m waiting for.

No we haven’t.
Anyone that actually uses these things knows we haven’t.

Why do we promote and celebrate doing 10 years of work within a week? What’s the benefit to humanity?
I’d like to see his answer and what drives him to believe the solutions he’s pursuing are accurate to the exigent problems humanity faces.
Being productive can actually be dehumanizing. I enjoy the slow pace of work sometimes. Thinking through problems, collaborating, taking time - these are what make work worth doing.
I think we’ll find that being solely focused on the product will lead to a poor lived experience.

There are websites right now that you can give the AI program a picture of anyone and it will put that person into a porn video with body proportions that match the person in the picture.
Imagine putting similar tech in virtual reality where you can’t tell the difference in real or not and you can pick anyone in the world.

Scientific research
Also shortening up the time to update legacy programs, so that organizations can leave their legacy IBM hardware.

Elon is fluffing people. We aren’t close to “the singularity”, unless you consider a decade, minimum, close.

That's terrible! Horrible! Disgusting!
What's the name of this website so I can be sure to avoid it?
