You don't think the Huey P. Long Bridge would be improved by attaching live, 115,000 volt wires?

Why stop there? Let’s let our nuts hang and strap a 500kV to it.

No.

Seen it happen when a tornado hit across from my parents house. Rolled up 3 towers like crumpled paper.

Energy came in built the towers and used a Chinook to put everything back together. Took about a week.

I’m almost certain Entergy shut power down in bogalusa or there’s a plant issue. Not sure where we get powered from. Power went off for everyone at once, even people in different segments.

Entergy tunneled the chalmette lines years ago for cruise ship access on the river. IMO all river crossings should have been done the same by now.

The tower it’s connected to is a couple blocks from here. I figured it was the Avondale side because I would have heard the one here.

This is 400’+ tower that spans 4,000 ft . There is no temporary fix . It will take time to fix. The good news is there are other feeds
Mute bad news is the other feeds are potentially damaged and no one will know how bad until they are assessed

whether it fell into the river, or fell on the ground, i don't know, but it's no longer standing.

that's a google maps photo, not a Ida photo that I posted.

Survived. I’ll access tomorrow but tron in here seems like no damage and I didn’t traumatized my kids. Not sure how livable Metairie will be in the next few weeks so will have to start making some decisions
