It was a meteor. They are green very often.

Yes, it was a shooting star. Since a star is a sun it was obviously a gigantic sun racing across the solar system.

Here is an image of Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) which I made last night through a 3" telescope in the southwest sky about 8:20 p.m.. Could this be what you saw?
