St. Jude and Ronald McDonald House are my charities of choice. I know 3 families personally whose kids were treated at St. Jude's. They do amazing work there to fight cancer, but what they do therapeutically (for the mind/soul) for the kids/parents/families is equally as important. Ronald McDonald House is lesser known, but associated with St. Jude's and provides free housing during treatment for the kids and their families.

No way my cousin would have been able to treat his little boy if not for these 2 organizations.

The best thing I can suggest is to use Charity Navigator to look through charities in whichever field you are interested in donating in and looking at their 4 star charities.

i worked with the foundation years ago and only have good things to say about it, personally. i try to do the br run every year. i understand that they’ve got big sponsors, but they advocate serious research funding and offer support for the diagnosed and support for the family. they help create a community of people experiencing the same struggles.

start a business with the money, make it hugely successful, get filthy rich. your rise to riches will support more people through employment than the charity will.

Local charity is typically better than national ones, IMO

St. Jude would be great. Local food banks would be good as well.

I don’t give to charity. They always ask for money then a month later they’re in the same place begging with the same story
