Yea I should do as I'm told because the government has such a stoic and long history of having my best interests and benefits as it's priority. It's being pushed way to hard which makes me more leary. Be a sheep if you want, I'll reserve judgement and wait for more clear evidence and more clinical trials independently verified.
Big pharma does what it wants which is why they treat not cure.

True of most vaccines. And a lot of drugs you can sue the drug maker but if its a listed known side effect the suit wont go far

This board is going to be in shambles.

That's a pretty nice loophole, just list every known possible side effect of any drug, and include death in that list, and you are good to go!

At some point, this narrative will have to be given up.

Here we go. HR departments nationwide preparing to require it for no damn good reason. Frick any company that is pushing this on its employees.
It will be most soon.

Does this mean they (vaccine mfg) can now be sued for side effects/negative reactions?
No vaccine manufacturer has been able to be sued for issues with their vaccines (outside gross negligence or willful and wanton) since 1986. The VICP is type of tort reform. Vaccines are actually low profit centers for Pharma so VICP was created to help ensure Pharma would continue R&D and production in the segment.
The system is somewhat analogous to the Workers Comp system in that it removes the need to show negligence only requiring causation which is very easy with "on the table" injuries. So they system allows for quicker and easier recover with reasonable awards for 90% of people. The EUA was not covered under VICP but rather CICP a similar system with different administration and different payout schedules.

Nope, immunity
Whoever down-arrowed this is an idiot. Pharmaceuticals are heavily protected by legislation from being sued. I'm sure there are exceptions which someone will put forth to prove that everything is awesome, but for the most part, their risk for what they're pushing is nil.

This is great, now everyone who should take the vaccine can get it and everyone else can shut up about it.

This is a fricking crime. It is NOT fully vetted in any way shape or form... This is big government forcing its way. If the pharma company can't be held liable somebody needs to give me the rationa as to why not. If it is safe and approved then take responsobility for your product.

1+ year data and 100 million data points isn't fully vetted?
interesting

Let's forget our opinions on vaccines for a sec....The craziest thing I read in the article is that now that there is an approved option in the US that no other company can get an EUA.
So that means that Novavax will have to go through the more stringent full approval process to even get their version available to the masses. The crazy thing about that is that the only reason that Pfizer was able to get the data for full approval this soon was due to the EUA....so now other companies are at a compeitive disadvantage and will probably never be able to sell their vaccine in the US.
Part of this whole COVID story that comes out down the line is the real relationship between Pfizer, Moderna, NIH, CDC, and the rest of the US Federal Govt....I suspect it won't be good.

What is abnormal about not being liable when given the side effect warnings?

One day last week, I posted they were scheduled to leave the next day for Ukraine. That didn't happen. It has been silent since that information, so I assume something has happened that will not be good.

And the Novavax is closer to a traditional vaccine isn't it?
