In all seriousness, this sounds like fricking bullshite. Is there actually any scientific proof of telepathy in humans?

I more meant the 7 languages and math stuff.
Quite possibly the smartest 5 year old on Earth and you're not impressed, just a little?

Ms Sanguino says her son can understand and recite parts of several languages including Greek, Hebrew, Arabic and Japanese.
He can also solve rudimentary algebra problems, she says.
He apparently has a knowledge of square roots - and can even draw the entire periodic table. Unfortunately, none of this matters because he'll always be considered a weirdo.

quote:Let me get this straight. One of the major deficits of indivduals with Autism is that they lack "Theory of Mind" and understand other's beliefs, thoughts, and feelings.
I have found many autistic children who have been reported to be telepathic and I wanted to see it for myself and see if it can be evaluated and actually tested under rigorous, controlled conditions.
Yet, this "expert" had found individuals with Autism who can go far beyond that and can actually "read minds."
Frankly, I am skeptical of everything in that story, not just the pseudoscience.

If he's learning 7 languages, then I'm pretty sure he's learning Braille in that pic.
He seems focused on studying the letter "A" at the moment.

His mom is an Californian "artist" and therefore probably a liberal minded person. Do you think she still lets her five year old son suck her titties?

The problem with such claims is that there is no attempt to explain the mechanism behind the supposed telepathy. Think about it, you need some mechanism of transferring information between two brains without using any of the 6 senses. Radio waves without any way to transmit or receive? Bluetooth? How do you propose that it is done? Until the scientist can propose a mechanism for this telepathy, they might was well be trying to prove that magic exists.
But people believe weird things without any regard to the simple idea that they should be required to explain how it can happen if they insist that it does. Take the claim that some people can "feel" their hair being cut. Is it because they are on the only people on earth with living nerves in their hair? If not, how could it be true.
So, yes, it is easy to dispute and/or ridicule claims for things that require magic to work. On the other hand, if a logical and scientifically plausible mechanism is explained for the phenomenon, it may deserve some consideration.
